Does it ever worry you? All this Reality TV we get these days?

I can't help worrying that it is taking up valuable TV space where there could be proper programmes with scripts and actors.

One the whole I would say realitity TV is a pile of big steamy poo...

The only shows I watch in this category are:

The Apprentice
X-Factor
American Idol
Britians Got Talent

but that said...if I miss an episode I'm not that bothered and if they never showed any of them again I can't say I'd miss them unlike some of the better drama shows.

I do find myself watching less and less British TV these days prefering instead the American imports in the forms of House, Numbers, Dexter - not CSI though...they do soooo much wrong that it annoys me to watch them! That said TV has reached a stage now where the only show I am desperate not to miss is House! The rest...if I miss an episode I miss and episode...it's not the end of the world...but I have just waffled on about something completely detatched from the question you asked Erin...sorry!

I hear voices and they say you're weird!

The worst thing is all the copies. So many of them are basically the same show.

Also, I don't like that some people become famous just for being obnoxious to people. There's no skill in that.

I'm with you on this one Erin

Basically Reality TV is just a way for the programme makers to get cheap TV - no actors to pay because members of the dumb public queue up to make idiots of themselves Even those shows with "celebrities" in are no better because it's mainly the "celebrities" who can't get work anywhere else so will do anything and will accept a minimum wage just to get their faces on the screen

It is all a load of rubbish and I won't watch any of it - if we reach a point where the only programmes on TV are reality then I will be taking my TV to the dump and spend my time reading and listening to music

Another thing is that if any one who has become famous through a reality programme appears on TV then I turn that off too - apart from the singers who have made their name through X-Factor or one of those sorts of shows because they do have talent and some of them are very good - but I still don't watch those shows

I know I'm getting better at golf because I'm hitting fewer spectators.

Reality TV was good to begin with because there was only one or two shows at any one time; but now NZ television is two thirds reality shows - locally produced, Australian, English and American.

Most of the shows are absolutely rubbish. Some are truly bizarre and I really don't know how the content passes the censors!
